Genetics are what make you look the way you do. Genetics determine whether you have brown eyes or blue eyes, blond hair or red hair. Genetics are what make you look like your parents, siblings, and grandparents. If there were no such thing as genetics, we would all look like gray blobs. Genetics play an important roll in our life, even if we don't always think about them.
Genetics are what made our reebop bugs look different. When we mated the bugs, both parents gave off certain traits, and some traits were overruled by other traits. When we traced back the bugs in the class, you could see that some traits were lost after two or three generations. You could also see that in some way or another, we were all kind of distantly related. For example, I was mated with Brian C., and before me, Brian had mated with Camille. So Brian's and my child child had some of Camille's traits, even though I never mated with her. This is also why when we made the list of traits on the back of our bug index cards, there were many colors. For example, I was light green. I mated with Dan, and he was green. Then I mated with Brian, who was blue, and he had mated with Camille, who was pink. So therefore, our list of traits for the bug had light green, green, blue, and pink on it.

There are eight colors on it because when I mated with Jordan, the colors of the people he had preveously mated with showed up and the colors of the people I had preveously mated with had showed up.
So in conclusion, genetics play a huge roll in genetic variety. Without genetics variety, we would all look the same and no one would be different. Genetics are very important, even though people might not always think so.
