this week we first summed up our cockroaches and then started to talk about adaptations. we also did some simulations to learn more about adaptaions and evolution. we learned that animals have to adapt to their environments in order to survive. for example, a brightly colored bug would probably not survive in a dark, swampy area because it would stick out and get eaten. it would survive better in a bright place light a tropical forest. but if it did live in a dark area, it would eventually adapt. adaptations occur over many generations and over a period time. so eventually, the bugs would adapt to live in a dark place by maybe changing their body color or something.
